High-end audio electronics from Goldmund: the Telos power amplifiers and the Mimesis Reference preamplifier.

The Telos 9800 is the successor to the Telos 8800 and Goldmund’s most advanced amplifier to date. For the first time, the power supply and the amplifier are built in separate enclosures, so each works under its own ideal conditions.
The amplifier unit is built to keep the signal intact, while its dedicated power supply, made only for the Telos 9800, provides the current and energy reserves that the most demanding passages call for.
A redesigned output stage pairs the latest MOSFET devices with larger transformers, more stored energy and a new soft-start circuit, for steadier power, quicker transients and firmer control of the loudspeakers. It delivers 1,560 W RMS into 8 ohms.
The new chassis, designed with Cécile Barani, is made of micro-blasted aluminum with gold-plated copper terminals, in grey or black. Its 15 mm panels and 40 mm radiator chassis work as one passive heat sink, and the aluminum body shields the circuits from electromagnetic interference.

The Telos 2800 and Telos 800 bring the same Telos technology to more compact amplifiers. Telos is Goldmund’s own Class A/B design, first introduced in the 1990s and refined ever since: highly linear analog components in a high-bandwidth circuit, for very low distortion.
The Telos 2800 is a mono power amplifier, 450 W RMS into 8 ohms (590 W into 4 ohms), sold as a pair in one flight case. The Telos 800 puts 2 x 300 W RMS into 8 ohms (2 x 390 W into 4 ohms) in a single stereo chassis, for systems with fewer components.
Both lower the output impedance to keep the woofers under firm control, with a damping factor of 600, and both sit in thick micro-blasted aluminum chassis on Goldmund’s conic feet.

The Mimesis Reference is Goldmund’s reference analog preamplifier. The preamplifier and its power supply sit in separate enclosures, and Class A output stage drivers with carefully selected ultra-low-noise components keep harmonic, intermodulation and transient intermodulation distortion to a minimum.
The power supply was completely redesigned, with separate analog and digital circuits, custom audio-grade transformers and a dedicated supply for each channel, for better channel separation. A heat sink machined in-house cools the supplies, and every low-noise op-amp on the audio board has its own heat sink, machined from a single piece of aluminum.
Seven line inputs, balanced and unbalanced, each with its own level adjustment, feed balanced and unbalanced outputs. The 2023 design brings a screwless top panel and 12 mm panels, in Goldmund’s silver grey or matte black.

What is the Goldmund Telos 9800?
A mono power amplifier rated at 1,560 W RMS into 8 ohms, used one per channel. Goldmund describes it as its most advanced amplifier to date.
How is the Telos 9800 different from the Telos 8800?
The power supply and the amplifier now sit in separate enclosures, and the output stage was redesigned with the latest MOSFET devices, larger transformers, more stored energy and a new soft-start circuit, in a new chassis designed with Cécile Barani.
Which finishes are available?
Grey and black micro-blasted aluminum. Goldmund asks buyers to confirm finish availability and lead time with a dealer.
How can I get pricing and availability for a Goldmund product?
