The Epoque Baforce Petite subwoofer is the choice for the ultimate sub-bass reproduction. In order to achieve an absolute homogeneous sound dispersion and stimulation of the room modes within the sub-bass frequency range the subwoofer Epoque Baforce Petite is furnished with 8 custom built 9 inch long throw bass drivers which are arranged in a specific array.

These symmetrically arranged bass drivers are located on the left side and right side of the enclosure and are impulse compensated. Do to this particular impulse compensated array of the bass drivers and that each of this custom built bass drivers is mounted in its own sealed chamber, an ideal impulse behavior, best possible control and therefore the fastest possible bass response is guarantied.

The Epoque Baforce Petite can be ordered in an active version, as well as in a passive version. We also offer a passive version, so our customers have the choice using their preferred amplification.

In the active version, each bass driver has it’s own 250 Watt amplifier. That means 8 times 250 Watt! The massively oversized power supply can shortly deliver 4 times higher peak current as the amplifiers will need at maximum level. Always controlled by a mirco controller to permanently have monitored secured conditions. Everything mounted in the loudspeaker foot, which is milled out of a full block of a specific aluminum alloy in order get the perfect control over EMI, crosstalk, heat dispersion and resonance patterns.

The crossover / controller of the Epoque Baforce Petite is always excluded and is available from us as the unit called “Epoque Baforce Controller”. We deliberately outsourced the totally analog high end active crossover / controller in an external enclosure, so the small signals are not influenced by the massively current / voltage of the amp / power section, as well as from their mechanical resonances and hugely magnetic fields.

The purely functional design with well-defined shaping`s and the use of specific aluminum alloys together with our special high density composite materials eliminate any diffractions, resonances and energy saving effects from the outset.

Lossless Bass Drivers

In order to get an ideal impulse behavior and therefore the fastest possible bass response, we had to develop incredibly fast and absolutely linear bass drivers for the Epoque Baforce. The motor system is optimized to the maximum linearisation of the magnet field in both directions of the extremely high excursion area in order to get the lowest and smoothest possible harmonic distorsion spectrum. Additionally all materials we use here are second to none in order to get the minimum possible loss factors and the fastest impulse behavior. Only to sum a few: Glasfiber voice coils, extremely lossless spiders and gaskets, extensive ventilation, extremely rigid aluminum membranes, …

Multiple Bass Array

In order to get an even more accurate and fast bass response we use a multiple array of bass drivers. These special bass drivers are mounted in a particular array on the left and the right side of the enclosure in order to activate the room modes completely uniformly. Additionally each of these custom built bass drivers are mounted in their own sealed chamber in order to get the best possible impulse behavior and therefore the fastest possible bass response with maximum control. In terms of maximum sound pressure level you have to move a lot of air when the frequency goes down. Therefore the surface area sum of all bass drivers in one Epoque Baforce is greater than 3,600 cm2! And all this with a linear excursion of more than 2 cm!

Impulse Compensation

Additionally these ultra lossless bass drivers are mounted impulse compensated in the enclosure of the Epoque Baforce. Through this additional technology and based on the usage of our proprietary ultra rigid sandwich enclosure materials, the harmonic distorsions and material resonances are once again reduced to nearly one tenth part. You will experience this in an even higher resolution, effortlessness and even quicker transient response in the bass and sub-bass area.

Ultra rigid Sandwich Enclosure

The enclosure of the Epoque Baforce is an absolute non-compromise design, where all our knowledge about material resonances where applied. Based on our bending wave technology, we certainly know exactly how to manage surface waves on enclosure materials so they doesn’t even start to arise. For the Epoque Baforce we only use our proprietary multilayered composite material in combination with a special aluminum alloy in order to prevent any resonances in the working areas of each driver. Through this ultra rigid combination of materials we also avoid any energy saving effects. You will experience this in an unbelievable uncolorationed sound reproduction with tremendous attack and speed in front of an absolute silent background.

Direct coupled bass drivers to the amplifiers

Each bass driver in the active version of our Epoque Baforce has it’s own 250 Watt/sin. amplifier and is directly coupled to it’s output. So in the active version of our Epoque Baforce subwoofer we are using 16 amplifiers, each can deliver 250 Watt/sin. = 4 KW/sin. in total! The power amplifiers are special adapted Class H types with a very low output impedance. Hereby we reach a stunning high damping factor and get the best possible control over each bass driver. Additionally we hereby also avoid influences through back EMI from the outset. This all results in a bass reproduction with the best possible impulse behavior and maximum control, which you have never experienced before.

Massively Oversized Power Supply

The massively oversized high end power supply can shortly deliver 4 times higher peak current as all the amplifiers will need at maximum level. Always controlled by a mirco controller to permanently have monitored secured conditions. Additionally In order to even lower the interferences, we designed the enclosure so the power supply has it’s own shielded chamber and doesn’t effect the analog section. Hereby every dynamic impulse will be reproduced with unbelivable velocity and precision. So every small dynamic detail of the music will be unveiled without compression.

Totally EMI and Resonance Proof Enclosure

The complete electronic is housed in a non-compromise enclosure which is milled out of a full block of a specific aluminum alloy. Hereby we get perfect control over many things. For example avoiding EMI, the ideal heat dispersion, the freedom from magnetic interfering fields, an ideal resonance behavior of the complete system, … Additionally in order to even lower the interferences we designed the enclosure so every unit has it’s own shielded chamber in this enclosure. So for example the power supply and micro controller doesn’t effect the analog section.
